Intelinair, the Indianapolis-based crop intelligence company behind the AGMRI platform, has been awarded the “AI-based AgTech Innovation of the Year” in the 7th annual AgTech Breakthrough Awards program. The award recognizes AGMRI and the new AGMRI AI Agent for putting field-level analysis directly in the hands of growers and agronomic advisors.
What is the AgTech Breakthrough Awards program?
The AgTech Breakthrough Awards program is an annual awards competition run by AgTech Breakthrough, a market intelligence organization that recognizes top companies, technologies, and products in the global agricultural and food technology markets. Now in its seventh year, the program evaluates innovations across categories including farm management, precision agriculture, analytics, IoT and robotics, and FoodTech.
What is AGMRI?
AGMRI is a cloud-based agronomic intelligence platform that integrates imagery, real-time weather, soil sampling, planting and harvest records, and field boundaries into a single, continuously updated view of enrolled corn and soybean fields. It stores data across many zones per field, capturing the within-field variability that field-level averages miss.
At its core, AGMRI’s machine-learning models analyze multispectral imagery to detect crop stress, disease, nutrient deficiency, drainage issues, and stand problems—often before they’re visible to the human eye—then enrich those findings with soil, application, and seed-placement data.
The problem it solves is one every grower knows: a single farm can generate terabytes of data each season, and turning that data into the right decision at the right time is still the hardest part of the job.
What does the AGMRI AI Agent do?
The AGMRI AI Agent, live for the 2026 crop season, lets growers and advisors ask plain-language questions and get field-level answers in seconds. The Agent queries live field data directly, accounts for differences in soil and field conditions to keep comparisons fair, and returns formatted reports, dashboards, and prescription maps.
Analysis that previously took two to four hours per grower now takes under a minute. That supports faster, better-grounded decisions on:
- Hybrid placement
- Seeding rates
- Fungicide timing
- Harvest sequencing
- Field-level profitability
Why did Intelinair win the AI category?
The judges pointed to accessibility—advanced analysis in the hands of decision-makers, not just data scientists. “The strongest AI entries this year were the ones that put advanced analysis directly in the hands of the people making daily operating decisions,” said Bryan Vaughn, Managing Director of AgTech Breakthrough. “Intelinair stood out for pairing deep agronomic modeling with an AI agent that turns a grower’s question into a field-level recommendation on the spot.”
“Intelinair stood out for pairing deep agronomic modeling with an AI agent that turns a grower’s question into a field-level recommendation on the spot.”
Our President and CEO Tim Hassinger framed it the same way: “Growers and their advisors have never had more data, and yet the hardest part of their job is still turning that data into the right decision at the right time. AGMRI was built to do that synthesis, and the AGMRI AI Agent now lets an advisor simply ask a question and get an answer in seconds that used to take hours of analysis.”
What’s next for AGMRI?
Our models get stronger with every season of accumulated data, and we’re continuing to invest in AGMRI, the AGMRI AI Agent, and the grower and ag-retail partnerships behind them. The goal is unchanged: give the people making agronomic decisions every day the answers they need, when they need them.
